Our tool is designed to provide you with an accurate estimate of the time your electric vehicle needs to be connected to the grid. To get the result, the calculator analyzes the relationship between the energy remaining to be completed in the battery and the power the charger is capable of supplying constantly.
The total charging time does not only depend on the battery, but on an ecosystem of technical factors that can accelerate or slow down the process:
If you want to understand the logic behind our calculator, the basic formula is simple: Time = Energy to charge (kWh) / Charging power (kW). For example, if you have an empty 60 kWh battery and use an 11 kW charger, the theoretical time would be about 5.4 hours. However, factors such as energy efficiency loss (usually between 10% and 15%) often slightly extend this process.
Using this calculator allows you to better plan your routes, optimize the use of night-time electricity tariffs, and better understand your vehicle's performance in different charging scenarios.
